“Site Link is a fantastic upgrade for our DMR customers,” said Product Manager Stuart Longley. This allows highly flexible system design, since the slots can be allocated independently at each site.
Uniquely, each wide-area slot is given an ID number and communications are repeated to other slots with the same ID.

Using DMR’s two-slot TDMA architecture, the software allows each timeslot to be designated as either local or wide area: local communications are repeated solely by the ‘home’ repeater wide-area communications are transmitted to other repeaters across the network. This expands the capability of the system, extending coverage to remove black spots and allowing effortless communication with users on different frequency bands or at remote locations, country- or even worldwide.
